FAQ

Does Showwwtime own the broadcasting rights to the video on its site?
No; the channels on Showwwtime.com are mostly hosted by the original content providers, or in some cases by intermediary networks with rights to the published content. This model ensures that Showwwtime content is always up to date and is presented in optimum screen resolution and download speeds.

Why do some channels present the message: "this content is not available in your location"      and is there a way around it?

For commercial and legal reasons, some broadcasters limit the regions in which they make their content available. This practice is known as "geofencing". The host server simply detects your location from the IP address of your computer connection. There is no easy way around this, and we do not recommend tinkering with your connection setup. The good news is that Showwwtime is adding more global content all the time.

How come all the channels on Showwwtime are free? Are they legal?

The Showwwtime editorial team has very carefully composed a channel register of purely legal content. We will immediately remove, on request, any channels or links that make unauthorized use of copyrighted material.
So how come it is available for free? New business models are being developed on the internet that meet the expectations of modern consumers. Subscription services (whether it be for video, online newspapers or music) are struggling and advertisement sponsored models are taking their place. You will see advertisements preceding videos on many of our channels. Excellent content, provided by the major broadcasters in high screen resolution is now often preceded by a short video advertisement; sitting through a 15-20 second ad is in many cases a small price to pay for a free, quality service. Other forms of advertising you may come across are overlays or ads around the image frame.

How is Showwwtime funded?

Showwwtime is funded by pay-per-click advertisements and video search.
